Hughes Family,
Thank you all for an awesome start to the new year! I hope you had a relaxing holiday break and are glad to have the kids back in school.
January is a busy month for us as we evaluate and adjust our plans for the remainder of the school year to ensure that our students are learning and growing successfully. Your support is crucial in this process. Please help by encouraging your child to study regularly and don't hesitate to reach out to their teachers with any questions or concerns.

Now accepting applications for Next Engineers: Greenville Engineering Camp Summer 2025
Now accepting applications for Next Engineers: Greenville Engineering Camp Summer 2025
The Next Engineers: Greenville Engineering Camp, sponsored by the GE Aerospance Foundation and provided by Clemson University PEER & WISE, is open to any current 8th or 9th grader who lives in South Carolina. Over the course of 1 week, campers will be immersed in the world of engineering, where they will develop their creativity and problem-solving skills, complete hands-on, team-based design challenges, have an opportunity to meet real-world engineers, and get a sense of college life. Camp is free of charge to all participants. Lunch will be provided. Transportation will be provided to students in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, or Spartanburg counties. Students residing outside of these counties will need to provide their own daily transportation to and from Clemson University.
Engineering Camp will be held at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. Each session will run from 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday-Friday. This does not include transportation time. Pick-up and drop-off times will be communicated to campers before the start of each session. Students may participate in only one session. Sessions will take place the following weeks:
Monday, June 09 to Friday, June 13, 2025
Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27, 2025
The application is due by Friday, March 21, 2025 at 11:59 PM. If more than one student is applying in a family, then an application must be submitted for each student, using a separate email address.
Please note that submitting a camp application form does not guarantee a spot in the Engineering Camp. Eligible students will be selected based on a lottery system until all spots are filled. Students who have never attended Next Engineers: Engineering Camp before will be given preference over students who attended in 2024. Additionally, preference will be given to students living in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, or Spartanburg counties. Some students may be placed on a waiting list and granted admissions if/when spots become available. Students and parents will be notified regarding admission into Engineering Camp by Friday, April 11.
If you have any questions or need technical assistance with the application, please e-mail nextengineersGVL@clemson.edu.
