A chemist studies chemicals and matter and what changes them.

To be a chemist you must at least have a bachelor's degree. This will allow you an entry level job. To get a higher salary you will need a master's or doctorate.

It seems that getting a job as a chemist is fair, but expected to decline after the year 2014. There will still be numerous jobs in the research field to find better medication and ways to reduce pollution.

Like most jobs chemists have 40 hour weeks. Most chemists do bring work home with them on the weekends or do overtime during the week though.

To do this job you must be good with math, remembering details, and working with a group. Chemists are typically in well-equipped laboratories.
