Principal's Message
Sabre families,
We hope everyone had a pleasant weekend and nice Easter, however you celebrated it. The spring melt will kick into high gear as we get later into the week with warmer temperatures that are long overdue and much needed.
For our students and us adults for that matter, the change in season from winter to spring will offer a break from being stuck inside, but with still being respectful of social distancing and mitigation measures that are in place. Spring is a hopeful season and it will provide an infusion of energy and sense of optimism moving forward.
This week we are excited to welcome back Mrs. Krista Porter, Assistant Principal! Mrs. Porter has a wealth of knowledge and her strong understanding of education is a tremendous asset. As we also know, Mrs. Porter is calm, patient and has developed strong connections with students and extended Sabre community which will be very beneficial during these uncertain times.
Behind the scenes, we are also busy with the registration process. Before school closure was put in place, we did receive the majority of registration forms from our current Grade 10’s and 11’s. For those that we were unable to submit, we will be reaching out to families to assist with this process. Once we receive our registration forms, we then start inputting data and build a timetable and schedule for the 2020-2021 school year.
Staff continue to develop meaningful work and are utilizing ‘best practice’ and pedagogy with the google classroom as a platform. Ultimately, the online learning and alternative platform will not have the same student experience to the traditional classroom based instruction. Hence, continue to reach out to teachers and administration should your child require more assistance in navigating or uncovering curriculum.
In closing, please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions or concerns.
Take care and stay well,
Sunny Sandhu
