The Lincoln Log Issue #8
Abraham Lincoln School Newsletter - November 15, 2024
A Note From Mrs. Shaw...
Dear Abraham Lincoln Families,
A reminder to all families, Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Monday, November 25 and Tuesday, November 26. Sign up time with teachers is NOW! There is no school for students that week due to Parent/Teacher conferences and the Thanksgiving holiday.
We had a very successful Turkey Trot event on Wednesday. The cold temperatures did not appear to slow anyone down! Students ran and walked laps around Chapin Park, encountering optional obstacles along the way. Thank you, Mr. Pangburn, for training students during PE classes for the big run. Students were able to scan at the conclusion of each lap to contribute to their mileage club goals. We want to sincerely thank all of the PTO volunteers who invested their time and energy into making this such a special event. Throughout the day, students were proud and eager to share the number of laps they were able to run during the Turkey Trot.
Do you want to volunteer for future events?
If you think you may want to volunteer for an upcoming event at school, please attend a volunteer training(see schedule below) and complete a volunteer application. Once the application is received, a background and reference check is completed and you will be notified of your volunteer approval status. The process can take up to two weeks and the approval is good for one year.
Best,
Shannon Shaw, Principal
Abe Lincoln Turkey Trot
School Attendance Matters
Way to Go, Abe Lincoln!
We have one more week in November to maintain our 95% or higher average daily attendance. As of today, for the month of November, we are at 95.6%.
Our school attendance goal is at least 95% average daily attendance each month. Here's how we are doing after two months of school:
September: 95.5%
October: 95.1%
PRINCIPAL'S ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE:
If our school reaches our attendance goal of at least 95% average daily attendance in November, making it three month in a row, we will have a school-wide reward/event to celebrate! Let's go, Abe Lincoln!

A reminder for students to bring their water bottles to school every day. Hydration is crucial for their well-being and concentration in the classroom.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students refreshed throughout the day.
**We are graciously accepting donations of small paper or plastic cups for students to use to access water when they forget to bring their water bottles to school. THANK YOU!!**
