Doray Walker Appointed Assistant Director of Transportation
Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Doray Walker as the school division’s new Assistant Director of Transportation. Walker brings a wealth of experience in education, leadership, and community engagement to her new role.
With 25 years of teaching experience—22 of them in Culpeper—Walker has served in various roles within CCPS, including as a Choir Director, Fine Arts Coordinator, and Dean of Students at Culpeper County High School. Her dedication to students extends beyond the classroom, having spent 10 years as a music therapist working with the elderly.
Walker holds a Certificate in School Administration and Supervision from James Madison University, a Master of Music Education and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Music Therapy and Music Education from Shenandoah University.
Beyond her professional work, Walker has been an active volunteer in the local arts community. She has musically directed productions for Fauquier Community Theatre, worked with the Culpeper Recreation Club’s Barnstormers, and served on the Windmore Board of Directors.
A longtime Culpeper resident, Walker and her husband, Jeff, a drama teacher and area reviewer, have been married for 30 years. Their sons, Josh (29) and Jeremiah (24), both graduated from Eastern View High School. In her free time, Walker enjoys reading, traveling with her husband, and spending time with family.
As she steps into her new position, Walker shares her philosophy: "Remember you only have one ride through life, so give it all you got and enjoy the ride."
CCPS is excited to welcome Walker to this vital role in the transportation department ensuring safe and efficient transportation for students across the school division.
