PICTURES AND NEWS
DISCOVERY - ROBOT VACATION
You may have noticed that the Makerspace is the home of many types of robots. In recent months, the Makerspace staff have been hoping that classroom groups around the building would check out, and play with, several types of robots back in their learning communities. Discovery 4th grade did just that and shared their photos and videos.
Mrs. Murphy's class gave Tuffbot and the Ozobots a vacation. Tuffbot went to the beach. The Ozobots flew to a variety of locations.
BOOKMARK MAKING DURING "I LOVE TO READ WEEK"
Ms. Bogart shared 9 Pictures of her students making bookmarks. 3-12-2024
WALKING WEDNESDAY REPORT
Fifty six students and thirteen adults walked or biked to school this past Wednesday morning. Team Triumph had the highest participation rate by far. Nice work Team Triumph and the same goes to any of the students and staff members who participated in the walking event on that crisp March morning. Walkers and bikers collected stickers, sharpened pencils and slap bracelets as they checked in.
BOOK TASTING
As part of "I like to read week", Ms Levine offered book tasting opportunities in the library. Tables and decorations were set up to make a portion of the library feel like a restaurant. Ms. Levine came around and offered a menu of books for students to "taste" before settling on one they could check out and return to their classroom with.

ROBOT ADVENTURES - HAPPENING THROUGH MARCH
As seen in the below video, robots at City school are suffering from winter boredom. They had so much fun during the month of code in December but now are tucked away in their boxes awaiting adventure. What does this have to do with you? Your class can help give the robots a vacation. Simply let the STEAM team know which robot you want and when! We will deliver the robots to you-- ready to go!
https://www.wevideo.com/view/3328938796
AND as an incentive....the class that gives the robot the best vacation will win a robot for their classroom! (contest goes through the end of March)
Not sure which robot to choose? Our makerspace website lists all the robots we have (as well as the quantity) and has a video showing how they work with each one, as well as details on ease of use OR just reach out and we can help match your class with an appropriate robot. Here is the link to the robot website:

ROSIE REVERE ENGINEER
Rosie may seem quiet during the day, but at night she's a brilliant inventor of gizmos and gadgets who dreams of becoming a great engineer. When her great-great-aunt Rose (Rosie the Riveter) comes for a visit and mentions her one unfinished goal—to fly—Rosie sets to work building a contraption to make her aunt's dream come true. But when her contraption doesn't fly but rather hovers for a moment and then crashes, Rosie deems the invention a failure. On the contrary, Aunt Rose insists that Rosie's contraption was a raging success. You can only truly fail, she explains, if you quit.
