CWE Morning Carpool
Cogburn families,
Here are a few reminders and CHANGES for morning carpool:
1. Drop off starts at 7:10. Staff comes out at that time. Please do not allow your child to exit the car until 7:10. Students will be unsupervised if dropped off early.
2. Carpool closes promptly at 7:40. If you are arriving after that time, you will need to park in an open parking spot and walk your child inside to sign them in. Please do not just drop them off at the front door because you are late. Your child will feel very uncomfortable walking in alone.
3. Parking lot- If you want to use the front parking lot, please park and walk your child to the door. Park in a designated parking spot by 7:30 each morning.
4. If you are parking, you must accompany your child to the crosswalk or door. Do not pull along the curb or park behind another car. We have had parents arguing in the parking lot and a few students were almost hit by a car. Parking along the curb blocks the exit and is illegal as it is painted red.
5. CHANGE: The parking lot will be closed from 7:30-7:45 each morning. If you typically park and walk in, please be in a parking spot by 7:30 or you will be asked to join the carpool line. The parking lot will be closed because we have had many close encounters regarding safety. This will start on Monday, 2/10.
Let’s keep Cogburn Woods safe each morning! Thank you to everyone who continues to follow our expectations and models patient and courteous behavior for our students!! You are appreciated!
Teacher/Professional of the Year Announced Monday, 2/10!
Thank you for submitting your nominations for Teacher of the Year (TOTY) and School Professional of the Year (SPOT). This school year our TOTY finalists are Holly Chafin, Jacqueline Daeschler, Brittany Ellis, and Julia Godwin. Our nominees for SPOTY are Randi Downey, Hannah Stolberg, Kelly Parkman, and Krystal Vickers. This upcoming Monday, February 10th we will celebrate all of our finalists and announce our TOTY/SPOTY winners.
Get Out and Play!
The Cogburn Woods PE department encourages students to be physically active outside of school. If you have a picture of your child/family doing something active, please send it to: hanningo@fultonschools.org so that they can be on the All Star Board for the whole week!
Cougars Practice Kindness
This week is Kindness Week at Cogburn Woods! Students will be completing kindness challenges throughout the week as we look for ways to spread kindness and include others. This is one of the activities that helps support our No Place for Hate program. Take a few minutes at home to discuss ways your child can show kindness everywhere they go!
Career Day Coming Soon!
Cogburn Woods will be having its annual Career Day on February 28th from 9:00-11:00. In order to make this event a successful, fun learning experience for our students, we will need volunteers to speak with 3rd-5th grade classrooms about their careers. Volunteers will speak to classrooms on a rotation for 20 minutes each. If interested in volunteering, please complete the form below. Please reach out to Ms. Woodworth or Ms. Greene with any questions. We'd love to have you!
