We were honored to welcome Mr. Don Dycus, our Catoosa County Chairman of the Board of Education, to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School. Mr. Dycus has dedicated the last 26 years to serving our students and community, with the past 22 years as chairman. His leadership has been instrumental in guiding our schools and supporting our growth.

During his visit, Mr. Dycus took the time to connect with our students and teachers, sharing his experiences and inspiring all with his dedication.

Thank you, Mr. Dycus, for your years of service and your incredible commitment to LFO and Catoosa County.

The LFO Band proudly represented our school in the annual Fort Oglethorpe Veterans Day Parade. They marched in honor of our veterans, bringing music, spirit, and LFO pride to the event.

Our talented cast and crew held their first ever Shuler Show table read last week, diving into FOOTLOOSE! Mark your calendars for an unforgettable show on March 7, 8, or 9 in the LFO Fine Arts Center.

For the first time since 2018, our Warriors are heading to the GHSA playoffs. This Friday, November 15th, we take on Hapeville Charter, and we need everyone to show their Warrior spirit.

It's that time of year again! LFO is excited to support the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office in spreading hope and joy to children in our community. Check out the details in the letter to learn how you can help make the holidays a memorable season for everyone in Catoosa.

November is Free Application Month for Georgia Public Colleges! Use the codes posted in the Senior Counselor Classroom to waive your application fees.

Apply for College Day will be held November 14th in the Media Center at LFO.

You can also check out Georgia MATCH on the GAFUTURES website to see which schools you pre-qualify for - making the process even easier.

Scholarship Alert! Scholarships are posted in the Senior Counselor Classroom. If you haven't joined yet, use the code fdyknlc to stay updated on all scholarship opportunities.

Exemptions for finals will be based on unexcused absences and grades in each course. Since exemptions will be based on unexcused absences, it is important to send notes to excuse absences. Notes must be turned in to the attendance clerk within ten days of the absence.

Students may be exempt from finals if:

3 unexcused absences with an A in the course

2 unexcused absences with a B in the course

1 unexcused absence with a C in the course

0 unexcused absences with a D in the course
