New Jefferson Elementary School Principal 2024-2025
We are excited to announce Kevin Cowley as the new principal at Jefferson Elementary School. Kevin previously served in our district as an elementary teacher, then as the World Language Immersion Coordinator. We are happy to welcome Kevin back home to our district.
Mr. Cowley has dedicated himself to the field of education for over a decade. He has taught fourth grade, fifth grade, and has been a part of the Spanish Immersion Program for a total of seven enriching years. His commitment to language education led him to serve as the Language Immersion Coordinator for the Jefferson School District for three years.
Mr. Cowley's educational journey began in 2012 when he earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish Education from Brigham Young University. Building on this foundation, he pursued further academic growth and obtained a master’s degree in educational leadership from Northwest Nazarene University in 2018.
Kevin has been married to his wonderful wife, Megan Cowley, for 16 years. They are the proud parents of two children who are actively engaged in the district's Spanish Immersion Program. Beyond his professional endeavors his hobbies include hiking, cooking, Frisbee golf, and spending quality time with his family.
Living Wax Museum
Students at Jefferson Elementary show cased their Living Wax Museum of US Historical Figures. This engaging event brought history to life as students portrayed notable figures from America's past.
Each student researched, prepared, and embodied a significant historical figure, offering visitors a glimpse into their lives and contributions to shaping our nation's history. From presidents to pioneers, activists to inventors, the museum featured a diverse array of individuals.

Day on the Hill
The Board of Trustees recently participated in the Idaho School Boards Association's Day on the Hill event, an enriching opportunity that saw them convene at the state capitol to interface with legislators and tackle pivotal issues crucial to our school district's welfare. This gathering provided a platform for board members to forge direct connections with policymakers, actively participate in hearings, and advocate for legislative initiatives and policies directly affecting our district.
