¡Feliz Semana de Agradecimiento Maestros! ¡Todos ustedes son increíbles! Tuvimos bastantes delicias esta semana para nuestros maestros. Nuestros profesores realmente se sintieron apreciados. Gracias a todos los que participaron para hacer que nuestros maestros se sintieran especiales. Un agradecimiento especial a nuestras mamás latinas que ayudaron a preparar un almuerzo increíble para nuestros maestros hoy. Alguien a quien también quería agradecer es a la Sra. Latasha por toda la deliciosa comida que nos brindó durante nuestras Black Excellence Affinity Nights. ¡Eres increíble! La próxima semana, lunes 13 de mayo, la zona de bajada de autobuses de Charleston y John Street estarán cerradas a tráfico de automóviles a partir de las 7:15 a. m. a las 8:00 a. m.. Ha habido demasiada conducción insegura la semana pasada y sería trágico si uno de nuestros hijos fueraherido. Nosotros necesitamos comenzar una conversación y comprometernos, como comunidad, a cómo debe verse y sonarse la conducción segura cuando dejamos y recogemos a nuestros hijos de la escuela. Será necesario que todos hagamos nuestra parte para conducir de manera segura y seguir las pautas de conducción estatales. Sé que podemos hacer esto, practiquemos ahora para comenzar con fuerza nuestro año escolar 2024/25.

Un vistazo rápido a la próxima semana:

• El lunes 13 de mayo de 2024, nuestra PTA se asoció con nuestro pub St. Johns McMenamins para crear una velada especial donde50% ¡De las ganancias se donarán a nuestra PTA en apoyo de nuestros estudiantes! ¡Qué! ¡Eso es genial!

• Walk and Roll Miércoles 15 de Mayo nos reunimos en la ComunidadCentro en 7:30 am y luego caminar y rodar hasta la escuela a las 7:48 años soy.

• Nuestro PTA de James John se reunirá el jueves 16 de mayo. La reunión comienza a las 6:00 pm

¡No olvides que este fin de semana es nuestro Desfile de St. Johns y, por supuesto, que tengas un maravilloso Día de la Madre!

Dear James John Families,

Happy Appreciation Week Teachers! You all are awesome! We had quite the treats this week for our teachers. Our teachers really felt appreciated. Thank you all that participated in making our teachers feel special. A special shout out to our Latina moms that helped put together an awesome lunch meal for our teachers today. Someone I have also wanted to thank is Ms.Latasha for all the yummy food she has provided during our Black Excellence Affinity Nights, you are amazing! Another shout out/ lion roar goes out to our James John School Circulation Planning team. Thank you for working tirelessly to begin conversations and actions to make our school streets/routes safer. Beginning next week, Monday May 13th the bus drop off zone between Charleston and John street will be closed to car traffic starting from 7:15 am to 8:00 am. There has been too much unsafe driving this past week and it would be tragic if one of our kiddos was injured. We need to begin a conversation and commit to, as a community, what safe driving should look like and sound like when we drop off and pick up our children from school. It will take all of us doing our part to drive safely and follow state driving guidance. I know we can do this, let’s practice now to begin our 2024/25 school year strong.

A quick look at next week:

• On Monday May 13th, 2024 our PTA partnered with our St. Johns McMenamins Pub to create a special evening where 50% of proceeds will be donated to our PTA in support of our students! What! That’s AWESOME!

• Walk and Roll Wednesday May 15th we meet at the Community Center At 7:30am and then walk and roll over to school at 7:48ish am.

• Our James John PTA will be meeting Thursday May 16th. Meeting starts at 6:00 pm

Don't forget this weekend is our St John’s Parade and of course have a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Your donations will support the JJ Library collection, JJ classroom libraries, and the JJ SUN program. Do you have books that would better suit older readers? Restaurant Night - May 13th, 2024

McMenamins St. Johns Pub

We have partnered with the always delicious McMenamins St. Johns Pub for a Restaurant Night on Monday, May 13th, 2024 from 5pm to 11pm.

This is a special restaurant night because for every dollar spent, McMenamin's will donate 50% to the PTA. This fundraiser only applies to dine in orders, NOT pick up or delivery.

One word of caution is that we want to try to stagger dinner appointments so we don't overwhelm their kitchen staff.

Rally your friends without kids from 8pm to 11pm to eat and drink for a great cause.
