CONGRATULATIONS, GRADUATES!
Dolce CAVS hosted it's annual Veteran Graduation Reception on April 11th in the new Faculty Club on the Boston campus. We loved having the opportunity to recognize and celebrate some of our graduating vets and servicemembers. Jay Hernandez, USAF veteran and Founder/Owner of Veteran CEO Magazine, shared some of the wisdom he's learned interviewing a host of chief executives. BG (Ret.) Andrea Gayle-Bennett, Deputy Secretary of the MA Executive Office of Veterans Services, was on hand to present our veteran graduation medallions. Navy Captain (Ret.) and CPS Professor, Dave Hagen, presented the CAVS challenge coins. Here are just a few of the pictures from this great event.
To all those graduating who couldn't be with us on the 11th, please know how proud we are of what you've accomplished! Your example proves to those who follow that it CAN be done. If there's anything we can ever do for you, please don't hesitate to reach out. And if you'd like us to mail you a medallion and challenge coin, please send us your request with a good mailing address to Rashard Thurston at r.thurston@northeastern.edu .

Your military training taught you the importance of being observant and alert when you need to be. Hypervigilance goes beyond that—it can interfere with your ability to enjoy life or even just get through the day. So how can you right-size your alertness level?
That's just one example. Mental health is important for everyone, not just those who served in the military. For those of us who did serve, we can still be impacted by mental health challenges that have absolutely nothing to do with our time in the military. It's just part of being a human.
Like physical scrapes and bruises, we can also heal the wounds that can't be seen. There have never been more resources available. When you're ready, "take some time for you." You won't regret it!
How did this student summit Mount Everest? Navy training and mindfulness skills from Northeastern
Enrolling at Northeastern under a program for military veterans and becoming involved in the university’s yoga and meditation program helped set Evan Kenny on the path to healing in body and spirit. And when you find yourself in South Asia, why not climb Everest and meet the Dalai Lama while you're there? Obviously!
