Wickliffe Family Update

December 8, 2024 Notes and News
Dear Families,
I hope you’re all having a great weekend! We had a wonderful week at Wickliffe, including an all-school dance gathering in the gym, as the cold temperatures kept us indoors from our planned all-school recess. The staff continued the fun on Friday, with our staff winter-themed names! Friday evening, Mrs. Zelnik led 90 4th and 5th grade students as they performed at the Upper Arlington Winter Fest. I hope you all stayed warm—what a fantastic way to kick off the holiday season! A big thank you to our students, families, and staff who supported our talented singers.
As we head into the final weeks before winter break, we’re keeping up the energy and spirit of our community. On December 19th, we’ll have an all-school PJ Day to celebrate our Winter Sing-Along Town Meeting.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the families who supported Mrs. Oberlin's and Mrs. Miller's classes in their holiday gift drive for the children of Heart to Heart Food Pantry families. Last week, they delivered gifts collected for 30 families—what an incredible way to show kindness and generosity this season!
As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child comes to school dressed for the elements, including coats, hats, and gloves. On snowy or muddy days, boots are also recommended. We prioritize outdoor play and will go outside for recess as long as the windchill is above 19 degrees. Thank you for helping your child stay warm and comfortable during these chilly months!
The Wickliffe Wolves Around The World planning subcommittee will be meeting on Sunday at 8 pm (here is the link to join the zoom call- Meeting ID: 446 650 7269). This meeting is open to anyone interested in learning more about this event.
Warm wishes,
Angela

Global Education Feedback Opportunity for Students and Families in Grades 5-10
Upper Arlington Schools is proud to offer students the ability to travel abroad with their teachers and peers as part of our Global Education Program. As we begin to think about future opportunities within this program, we are inviting students and families currently in grades 5-10 to share some thoughts to inform our travel selections. Students in these grades will be eligible for school-sponsored global travel opportunities in the 2025-2026 school year. Parents/guardians may complete this survey. We invite parents/guardians to preview the student survey before asking your grade 5-10 student(s) to take it at home to share their feedback.
Below are links to both a parent/guardian survey and a student survey. The surveys will close on December 18 at 4 pm.
