BEH Weekly Family Message
September 3rd, 2024
Here come the kindergartners!!
It was amazing to get all of our kindergarten students started today! Now we just have PK to go and then we will have all of our classrooms up and running. Here are some of the updates for this week.
Adjusting to the New Schedule:
We are all still working to adjust to our new schedule. Don't forget that the doors open at 7:55 each morning and the tardy bell will ring and doors will close at 8:00. Following that, students need to be brought into the office and checked in.
The school day ends at 2:30 and 3-5th grade will come out to the covered basketball courts for pick-up, while our PK-2nd grade will be picked up at their classrooms.
We are all working to adjust to these new times, please do your best to be here on time and communicate with the office if there is an unexpected reason you may be running late.
Site Council Meeting:
Our first Site Council Meeting of this school year is this Thursday evening. We will be meeting virtually and will share out the recording with everyone in next week's family message. This is a collaborative team of family members, school staff, and school admin that meets around once a month to review school data, provide feedback, and support decision making with the goal of continuing to improve our school. If you are interested in joining this team this school year, we will be nominating members for this team at our next BEH PTA meeting.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day is this Friday:
This year we will hold our annual Grandparents & Special Friends Day this Friday, September 6th. Any Grandparent or Special Friend that is interested in connecting with Mr. Kaveh & Ms. Freeman about what the school is up to and hear where there may be opportunities to help are invited to join them in the staff lounge at 2:00. At 2:30, they will go and meet their students at dismissal and bring them back to the gym with them for some fun hands-on activities with our PTA and Ms. Jenn (our amazing art teacher).
Fire Drill This Week:
We will have our first fire drill this Friday for students to practice how to get out of the building in case of an emergency. This can be a bit overwhelming for students, so teachers will be reviewing it with students before the drill and if you would like to review with your student before or after, feel free to connect with them.
Student Backpacks & Supplies:
We had our first assembly last week and all of our students got new backpacks and school supplies.
Thank you to Jerami Grant's Hour Generation Foundation for their generous donations of back packs and supplies for our students!
