PCK Weekly Newsletter
February 1st, 2024
May 23rd, 2024
The 2023-2024 school year is coming to an end, and it has been nothing short of eventful! We’ve enjoyed seeing so many families attend classroom events and community activities, and we appreciate the time you dedicate to PCK. Thank you for building a strong community for our students.
It’s been a busy year and we’ve achieved several milestones in our journey of continued excellence. A few highlights include opening the new playground and 5th/6th-grade building, launching Universal Preschool Funding, implementing the free lunch program for students, and upgrading our school security systems. Some academic accomplishments involve continuing the alignment of our preschool program with our K-8 program, introducing a new elementary literacy assessment, starting the groundwork for a math intervention program, transitioning to a new Spanish practice to improve fluency, and expanding technology programs in preparation of new concepts like 3D printing. All these efforts of continuous improvement are important components of our culture of academic rigor and excellence.
The efforts of PCK students and teachers/staff were recognized with these awards and rankings:
We have enjoyed watching students learn, stretch and grow and are extremely proud of the achievements of our students, our teachers/staff and our community. Reflecting on this very busy and successful academic year, we understand that students are ready for summer - They’ve earned it!
Have a safe and relaxing summer. We will see you in August!
- 2024-2025 Calendar - The calendar includes dates for the first day of school (varies by grade level) and our school breaks.
- PCK Attendance Policy - We know families are planning ahead and we kindly ask that you try to schedule family vacations that align with our pre-planned breaks. Review the recently revised attendance policy for student attendance information.
- PCK Dress Code Policy - Before you shop for uniform pieces, review the new policy. The updated dress code policy was approved last month and includes revised shoe requirements and other minor modifications.

Science at PCK
PCK is well-known for our exceptional reading and math programs, but did you know that our science program is outstanding too? Our dedication to increasing science education over the past 10 years is inspiring students in all grade levels and the hard work of our students and teachers has been noticed! Our 8th grade girls achieved the highest CMAS science scores in the state of Colorado! And overall our 8th grade students are second in the state of Colorado for science achievement. You may also remember earlier this year PCK was one of only 16 Colorado schools to receive the Governor's Bright Spot Award for student science achievement. Way to go PCK!
