Per our student/parent handbook: A written note, medical excuse or electronic excuse form must be submitted for each absence.

Save time and gas by submitting your excuses online using this link - Online Excuse Form. You can upload medical excuses on this form, so no need to make a special trip to school. A link to this form is also at the bottom of each school letter and at the top of our website homepage.

If you prefer, medical excuses may also be faxed to the school at 803-476-3820.

BOOK FAIR - NOVEMBER 11TH - 15TH

The book fair is coming to Harbison West! The book fair will be open until 3:15pm each day next week. Tuesday, November 12th is family night and the book fair will stay open until 6:30pm.

STAFF MEMBER OF THE WEEK

October 25, 2024

I am selecting Laura Hill as the Staff Member of the Week. I decided to award Laura because of how hard she works each day to meet the needs of each child in our Special Education department! I have been lucky enough to work with Laura in many different positions from her subbing with me often, becoming my assistant for a year, helping in my classroom the next year and then finally in SpEd. She is always on top of things and eager to help where it is needed. She is a superhero! Thank you Laura for all of your help over the years.

November 1, 2024

For staff member of the week, I choose Tina Safko. She has been a mentor and friend in targeted instruction/ Preschool Special Education, and now serves the media center. She wears a smile at all times and is patient during the roughest of days. I love her persistence and flexibility. She works very hard every day and finds great solutions to help our students. She is a hero!

Some of our 5th graders participated in Origami Math today led by "Ms. Math" (Dr. Rachel R. McAnallen from Connecticut) via google meet. They created some colorful cubes while learning about math.
