Mr. Smith's Scoop π¦
Happy Friday!
Daily on-time attendance continues to be a focus for us school-wide. On a typical day we have between 30-40 students who arrive late. Learning starts as soon as the bell rings. Please help set your child(ren) up for success by arriving at school on time every day. Students may arrive as early as 7:15 AM with the bell for school ringing at 7:45 AM. Any student arriving after 7:45 will be marked tardy.
We are excited to welcome students each day & know that we can help all students learn and grow, but attending school daily and on time is critical. Absences create gaps in learning. If you are trying to decide whether to keep your child(ren) home for the day, the graphic below may help.
Another reminder, if your child is attending Camelview on Open Enrollment (we are not your home school), daily on-time attendance is required.
Conferences are next week. Our goal is to conference with every parent/guardian. If you have not scheduled a conference yet, please reach out to your childβs teacher. It is a great way to celebrate student learning and partner with parents to further support learning.
Have a great weekend.
CJ Smith, Proud Principal of Madison Camelview.

Got a Birthday Coming Up? Purchase a Birthday Box!
Our cafeteria can provide birthday boxes at a very low cost. This reduces the impact on classroom learning time (every minute counts), reduces the likelihood of ants in classrooms and creates a fun celebration during lunch times. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tkA7cxvKb4gCb7RDTtE2mxsgSZzxXMui/view?usp=sharing

What's Happening Around Madison?
The Madison Education Foundation needs YOU as a School Liaison!
The Madison Education Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) organization committed to enriching the quality of education of every child who attends Madison Public Schools by providing innovative, hands-on programs in music and the arts.
The Foundation encourages teachers to expand their lesson plans and integrate the arts into their classroom via any artistic medium by annually awarding over $15,000 to Madison School District teachers through the Arts in Education Teacher Grants. The Foundation also provides student performances taught by professionals in the beautiful Madison Center for the Arts where the students learn about set design, acting, and dance.
Another benefit is the Art Masterpiece classroom program which includes lessons of historic, geographic, and cultural relevance, artistic value, unique aspects, art appreciation and a class art project for each artist. Finally, the Foundation also provides no cost field trips to the Music Instrument Museum available to all Madison District students.
As a school liaison you will be asked to attend one, one hour board meeting a month where you will have voting rights which will directly impact the students at your childβs school.
If you are interested, please reach out to mdodd@madisoned.org.
Dollar Dress Down PTO Fundraiser Every Friday!
Uniforms!
As a reminder, we are a uniform school. Our uniforms consist of a navy blue, white or light blue polo shirt and navy or khaki bottoms. Cubs "spirit" wear is an acceptable alternative to the uniform shirt.
We are in need of student uniforms! If your kids have outgrown any of their uniforms from first semester and they are still in good used condition, please consider donating to us! You can leave them in the front office. Thank you!
