Weekly Update to Families
November 1, 2024
Brief Message From the Principal
We had a great week of learning and leading here at Altoona Elementary! As temperatures start to drop, please remember to dress your children in layers to keep them comfortable throughout the school day. Layering helps them adjust to changing indoor and outdoor temperatures, allowing for easy removal or addition of clothing as needed. A warm jacket, hat, and gloves are also great additions to ensure they stay cozy during outdoor recess and activities. Thank you for helping our students stay warm and ready to learn! In this update you will find the following:
- Leader in Me -- MRA -- If you haven't completed the survey, there's still time!
- Leader in Me -- Habit 6 Review
- HS STUCO Fall Festival
- Pajama Drive
- SEP's Literacy Night
Thank you for sharing your children with us! It is a pleasure to partner with you to realize the best possible education. We are better together! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or feedback. I know we are on the same page in wanting our students to be as safe as possible and for our school to be the best it can be! Together, let's be the change! Our students deserve that of us!
🎉 ATTENDANCE MATTERS! We need our students at school every day! 🏆
Respectfully,
- Mr. Miller
⏰ TURN CLOCKS BACK THIS WEEKEND!
Remember to "Fall Back" this weekend! This weekend ends Daylight Savings Time, so move your clock back one hour Saturday night/Sunday morning.
Leader in Me -- MRA
The Measurable Results Assessment (MRA) is a survey and reporting system designed to provide insights into our school's progress. To provide a holistic picture of what is going on in our school, the MRA includes three different surveys:
- one completed by all school staff
- one completed by students in grades four and above, and
- one completed by the families of students in all grades.
We hope you will participate so we can use the feedback to make our school an even better place for students and families.
The survey typically takes about 5 minutes to complete
Questions relate to the experiences you and your child have at our school.
Answers are anonymous--to encourage people to be honest and open, no names and other identifying information will be collected.
The time is now! The survey window will close on Monday.
The survey can be taken from any computer, smartphone, or tablet with internet access. Here is the SURVEY LINK.
