Wellness Corner
Last week at the Wellness Center, we had two awesome gatherings that brought students and staff together for some meaningful conversations and good times.
First, we had the Hand in Hand Workshop. Over 20 of us showed up to talk about relationships – the good, the bad, and how to set boundaries. Big thanks to Jenica Morin-Pascual from "Jenica Talks" for leading the discussion and helping us navigate those tricky waters.
Then, we had the Conchas, Chocolate, & Cotorreo event, and it was a hit! With over 40 of us there, it was a chance to relax, enjoy some treats, and just hang out together. Whether you stayed for the whole thing or dropped by for a quick chat, it was all about connecting and building community.
Both events were a success, showing us the power of coming together and supporting each other. We're excited to keep hosting more events like these and bringing our school community even closer.

AVID Future Ready
This past Thursday & Friday forty six students embarked on an eight hour drive to Northern Ca! First stop was at UC Davis. UC Davis is known for its bikes and cows; our students were able to witness first hand what it felt like to be at a busy UC Campus. They even got to eat at the dining hall. Shortly after, the next stop was Sacramento State, only forty minutes from Davis. The campus was green and beautiful, just like the beautiful State Capitol that our students got to visit. For many, this was their first time visiting the State Capitol. Students stayed in a nice hotel in the Sacramento area. The next morning, they continued North towards Eastbay. Students stepped foot on the CSU East Bay campus, a beautiful university overlooking the Bay area. They then drove for one more hour to reach the lively city of San Francisco. Students toured San Francisco State University. The highlight of San Francisco was crossing over the Golden Gate Bridge and spending a few hours at Pier 39. This was a memorable, fun, and unforgettable experience for our students!

Staff Spotlight
We would like to welcome our newest campus supervisor, Christina Ramirez. Since she began subbing here at the beginning of the school year, she has made an impact on our campus. She walks the halls ensuring students get to class on time and that students are respectful towards one another.
When Christina is not at work she enjoys anything in the kitchen. Between baking and cooking, she keeps herself very busy. Her three kids enjoy her love for the kitchen too.
Thank you again for joining the Viking family, Christina. Your grit and gold shines bright!
