SEL Second Step Program
Dear Parents,
In this week’s Second Step lesson, your child will create a storyboard (a visual plan for a video) that will inform their peers about the benefits of using emotion-management strategies. They will share strategies for interrupting unhelpful thoughts and managing strong emotions by creating a comic strip with a classmate.
Parents, try this at home. Ask your child to explain their comic strip or their storyboard to you. If they did not complete one, ask them to share any unhelpful thoughts they are dealing with. Try helping them to change unhelpful thoughts into helpful thoughts.
