Celebrate Black History Month
The month of February is Black History Month, which celebrates the rich cultural heritage, triumphs, and adversities that are an indelible part of our country's history. During this month, we at Williams High School will participate in this celebration with various activities, such as contests, black history facts, dress up days, and scavenger hunts! We hope to gain knowledge, while also having fun! Please see the current flyer below

Introducing NHS Peer Tutoring Service
Dear Williams High School Students and Parents,
We are thrilled to announce that our National Honor Society (NHS) chapter is preparing to launch a new Peer Tutoring Service aimed at supporting students who may need a little extra help in their academic journey. The program is designed not only to assist students in improving their grades but also to foster a supportive community of learners.
What the Program Offers: Our peer tutoring service will focus on helping students who might be struggling with core subjects. This initiative will initially cover Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Biology, and Chemistry. By participating in the program, students will have access to dedicated peer tutors who can offer guidance, study tips, and explanations to clarify challenging concepts.
How It Works:
Student-Led, Teacher-Supported: Each session will be led by NHS student tutors & HSA student tutors and will be co-managed with teachers to ensure quality and consistency. This setup will give tutors the opportunity to gain valuable experience while also providing the structure needed for academic success.
Service Hours for Tutors: As an added benefit, NHS and HSA tutors will earn service hours for each tutoring session they conduct, recognizing their hard work and dedication to helping their peers.
Bonus Points for Tutees: Students who participate as tutees will have the chance to earn bonus points on major grade assignments, with a maximum of 5 points per unit (with the exception of Chemistry, where points can be earned as daily grade points instead).
Point Tracker Form: https://forms.gle/hsg9EWjqBsuguG4T7
Why This Matters: Whether you need help with tricky algebra problems, theorems in geometry, or the complexities of biology and chemistry, our peer tutors are here to help! This program is a fantastic opportunity for students to improve their grades, deepen their understanding, and gain confidence in their studies—all while building connections with their peers.
We’ll be providing more information soon, including how to sign up, scheduling details, and available session times. We’re excited to kick off this initiative and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our school community!"

Williams High School Athletes of the Month
Please congratulate these young athletes as they are our selection of athletes of the month!
These amazing athletes have caught the eyes of their coaches and teachers and need to be recognized for their leadership, consistency, hard work, and resilience. They have excelled in the classroom, on the field/court, and in the community! Let's award them with some high fives, fist pumps, verbal hallway shout outs, and any other ways of congratulating student athletes of this magnitude!
Arianna Robinson, 9th Grade, Varsity Basketball
Ari is a freshman guard averaging 21 points a game! She was selected to the ALL-Tournament Team in the Coppell Tournament held last month where the Lady Panthers finished 3rd defeating 5A #3 ranked Leander Glenn! Ari maintains above average grades classes and is a pivotal player on our young team!
Bella Seyoum, 9th Grade, Athletic Trainer
Bella is a great student. She always has a bright personality and pleasant disposition. She works hard and is always willing to help when needed. She has a drive to learn more and master the skills in athletic training.
Samuel Hammond, 9th Grade, Basketball
Samuel participates in both football and basketball. He is currently playing Point Guard and plays gritty on the court. He is super respectful to his teachers and represents Williams well.
