Brooker Creek Elementary Update - Week of 5/12/25

Dr. Brown's Weekly Message
With only 14 days left in the 2024-2025 school year the teachers and staff are busy with a host of planned activities, field trips, promotional ceremonies and special events to end out the year. I would like to recognize the 3rd -5th grade students and teachers for their amazing job with the ELA portion of the Florida FAST assessment this past week. This week our 5th grade students will be administered the Science FAST and our VPK will have the STAR Reading assessment.
Recently the school has seen a dramatic increase in the number of student early releases in the afternoon that's occurring after 2:15 PM. These early pickups have increased disruptions in the classroom learning environment, the afternoon flow of the day and classroom activities. I would like to ask parents to please refrain from picking up your child early during these last 14 days of school to allow teachers the opportunity to get through all planned instruction.
Finally, I would like to wish all of the amazing Brooker Creek mothers a Happy Mother's Day! . I hope that each of you have time this weekend to be celebrated for all the things that you do.
Mrs. Gerber's Message

Bobcat Spotlight
Rotary Club Student of the Month
Congratulations to Allyson Tarver who has been selected as the final Rotary Club Student of the Month for fifth grade. Mrs. Hickman shared that Allyson has been a ray of sunshine each and every day for both her peers as well as the teachers at Brooker Creek. Ally possesses such a sweet spirit of kindness. She gently encourages others in her own quiet way, smiles constantly with her eyes letting you know, “I understand the concepts,” or “I know what you are saying, and I’ll help get us there.” Ally is always respectful, responsible and determined. This year she was a member of the Battle of the Books Club and enjoys her service in the National Elementary Honor Society. Outside of school Ally plays on an East Lake Soccer team and loves to spend time riding horses. She is loved by all who get the pleasure of working with her daily and is quite deserving of this award. Congratulations!
2024-2025 Character Kids of the Year
Congratulations to the following students listed below who were chosen by their classroom teacher(s) as the Character Kids of the Year. The students were selected based on consistently demonstrating our PCS Commitment to Character traits, BCE’s Schoolwide Behavior Guidelines for Success (R.O.A.R.S.) throughout school (classroom, specials, café, recess, etc.), following the PCS code of conduct & attendance policies as well as being a responsible citizen who may be involved in community and/or school extra-curricular activities. Congratulations to these Bobcats and their families!
