What's Happening at Rees?
Cold and Inclement Weather
Just a reminder as we come back from our winter break about our cold and inclement weather procedures. Please read through these procedures and ensure your student(s) has a warm coat, gloves, shoes or boots, and other winter gear you feel they need to be outside for recess. We will be outside for recess as long as the temperature and wind chill is above 20 degrees. We have coats available at the school if needed. And a BIG Favor we ask, please write your child's name on his or her coat and lunch boxes. We have donated quite a bit of unclaimed items this year already. Thank You!
Rees PTA Meeting
There will be a PTA Meeting on Wednesday, January 8th at 10:00 in the Teacher's Lounge. Come on out and support our students and school! Click Here for the Rees PTA website.
School Community Council
Our School Community Council will meet on Friday, January 10th at 11:45 in the Conference Room. For more information about SCC and how they support our school click here.
Reading Carnival
On January 17th, students will have the opportunity to participate in the Reading Carnival. To participate, students must read 20 minutes each day at home and turn in their reading minutes each month. Students will play carnival games, purchase books with tickets they have earned, and enter in a raffle for prizes. Remind your student(s) to turn in their reading minutes each month!

Counselor Corner
In January we will be learning about Courage and Bravery. "Courage involves making good choices in the face of fear or obstacles. It’s another term for bravery. Bravery doesn’t mean fearlessness. It means we do not let fear hold us back from exploring new opportunities, developing our skills, and doing what is right. Courage and bravery can be experienced every day for kids and adults. The more you practice being brave, the braver you will become!" (In Focus).
