The headliner photo is L2IC Firefighters from May 2024 in the second level of the program completing a fundamental exercise required to meet the employment standards to be hired and provide future first responder services. These future firefighters will be prepared to serve after high school graduation!
Employers Want to Know
Attendance
"Every September, Attendance Awareness Month takes place to spread awareness regarding why maintaining attendance in school is essential for academic success." Attendance in school sets a precedence for a work ethic as an adult. Employers want to know about a student's attendance record for high school and tardiness. "If you mess up school, it will have an impact on the job you land and your quality of life."

L2IC CTE Success Story
The first annual Signing Day at L2IC was on May 1, 2024. It was an exciting day for the students signing employment agreements and the companies were proud to announce the students being hired! Four months following that day and graduation, Naashon Fosu visited L2IC. He shared his excitement with being employed by Michelin as a Michelin Tech Scholar. He was dressed professionaly in uniform. He came to visit his former Engineering Teacher, Mr. Mike Harlen. Naashon is currently getting paid while taking classes in Greenville and Northeast Columbia for the apprenticeship. Michelin pays for his education, pays Naashon an hourly wage for going to school and working at least 20 hours per week. Naashon is L2IC success story! He is one of many success stories of L2IC. Naashon is an example of "the why CTE" programs work with getting students hired and meeting local workforce demands. Congratulations Naashon!
