Source A shows the Japanese promoted this Japanese spirit in order to remove any western culture. This had made the students life very difficult and to have bade intention about Japanese language and culture. This can be seen from the picture that says “we were forced to take up Japanese subjects and the lessons were taught in Japanese language. It was hard for we students to understand Japanese and adapt to these changes “This shows that the students were forced to learn their culture and know more about it which had made the students to think badly of their Japanese culture.

Schools were provided free for all students by the British. This had been very helpful to students who are poor and those who cannot afford education . This had made the students to think highly of British . This can be seen from the source that says “I had been studying at this Malay school for free for more than 3 years “ This shows that the British shows care and concern in student’s studies which will make them think highly of the British occupation and the local people will support them
Comparison
During the Japanese occupation the students were forced to learn Japanese language which were tough for the students to learn and not everyone attended school this can be seen “we were forced to take up Japanese subjects and the lessons were taught in Japanese language. It was hard for we students to understand Japanese and adapt to these changes “.Whereas during British rule the students learned their own mother tongue and English which had made studies a lot better for the students and education were free. This can be seen “Schools were provided free for all students by the British”.Thus all the students attended school. This had made the students to have a good intention o british than japanese.

Source C shows a picture of Great World Amusement Park. It was a hosting place for many Trade Conventions. It also housed 150 carnival stalls and a Opera Stage. There were also many hawker stalls and many people would go there just for the food as the food there was said to be excellent.
Was there a change?: The park was transformed into a prison for Australian POWs. Many suicides occurred due to the ill-treatment and harsh conditions in the camps. Later, the POWs were transferred to shacks behind the park so that the park could continue with its activities, particularly gambling.
Culture

From an artist Searle, Ronald a William Fordham, a survivor from World War II (http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/24426)
This source shows a picture of two Japanese guards lounging behind table, one of them rested his leg on the other leg, and a local in Singapore bowing to them with his hat doffed.
I can infer from the source that the Japanese had to be respected during the Japanese occupation. This can be seen from the source that a local in Singapore bowing and respecting the Japanese. This implies that there is no white man superiority anymore during the Japanese occupation.

This can be seen in " White men were biologically and culturally superior to men of all other races. " This shows that the British discriminated all of the races except the white people as they said that the white men will always be superior to men of other races. Therefore, the locals in Singapore must obey the British.

Source C shows a Malay boy practices Japanese writing on black board, while his teacher corrects him. beside the Malay boy, an Indian student is waiting for his teacher.
I can infer from the source that different races were forced to learn Japanese in the Japanese occupation. This can be seen in the source that two boys of different races were writing Japanese on the black board. This implies that different races could not learn their own mother tongue language anymore.
