Away for the Day: Cellphone Policy Catching on with Students, Parents
Update on Well-Resourced Schools Proposals
District leaders have developed a revised proposal for building a system of well-resourced schools that will address the budget deficit for the 2025-26 school year. Under the revision, Superintendent Jones will propose consolidating five schools for the 2025-26 school year.
West Seattle Earns National Recognition
West Seattle High School has been officially recognized as a Special Olympics National Banner Unified Champion School for their work in Unified Sports.

Get Ready for the SAT/PSAT
SPS will offer a free, digital school-day SAT for 12th graders and PSAT/NMSQT for 11th graders throughout the month of October. Check with your school for its specific testing schedule.
Stepping Toward Success
More than 40 regional schools, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and community and corporate tables will be at the UNCF’s annual College and Career Fair on Sunday, Oct. 6, at Garfield High School. RSVP for free tickets!

Vaccine Clinics are Now Available
Getting vaccines is optimal for getting through cold-weather seasons. SPS is offering vaccine clinics this fall. The clinics are open to all SPS staff, families, and students—regardless of their enrolled school. Dates, locations, and registration information is available on the SPS vaccine clinic webpage.

People across the state can participate in earthquake preparedness drills at work, school or home during The Great Washington ShakeOut on Oct. 17.

The Seattle Promise Scholarship is now open. All seniors in the Class of 2025 are eligible to apply. Applications are due Feb. 14, 2025.
