Dear TTUSD Parents & Community Members,

This school year is coming to an end, and next Friday, June 18, is the last day of this school year.

Wow-what a year it’s been, and what incredible partners you all have been! I am so appreciative and proud of our students, our parents, and our staff. This has been an incredibly challenging time living and working through a pandemic. You gave your all to support our Tahoe Truckee youth. Thank you for being an outstanding partner in the education of our students despite challenging circumstances.

Thank you again for your support, flexibility, strength, and patience over the past year.

I want to give a special shout-out to our Class of 2021 for all that they’ve endured and accomplished in their time at TTUSD. They have demonstrated resilience, and I know exciting things lay ahead for them in their next chapter.

More exciting news:

• Derek Bosserman was named Placer County Classified Employee of the Year

• SELS’s Diane Welch was named the Placer County Teacher of the Year.

These are huge honors, and we couldn’t be more proud of our team members.

California plans to fully reopen the economy on June 15 and ease the restrictions that have been in place during COVID. However, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has stated that “school masking guidance remains in place and masks are required. Going forward, CDPH will continue to provide guidance around youth settings.”

TTUSD's face mask requirements and other safety mitigation measures will remain in place through the last day of school, Friday, June 18, 2021 and for our summer programs.

We anticipate that CDPH will be issuing directives for schools for the 2021-2022 school year by July which we will share out with TTUSD families as soon as we know more.

As a reminder, TTUSD’s Mask Policy for the 2020-2021 school year is as follows:

• All students and staff must continue to wear a face mask inside school buildings regardless of vaccination status.

• All students must continue to wear a face mask when on TTUSD campuses.

• All students and staff must continue to wear a face mask when they are on a school bus.

Tahoe Forest Health System’s Community Health Needs Assessment is underway! Randomly selected community members have been mailed a green postcard, from Franklin and Marshall College Center for Opinion Research, with survey instructions on the back. If you are randomly selected to participate, please complete the survey! Your answers will guide Tahoe Forest and its community partners in improving community health.

All answers are confidential. Telephone and online survey options are available in both English and Spanish.
