Coppell Choir Family,

We are so excited to welcome you to our Fall Choir Concert. You are in for a treat! We are so excited to showcase our amazing singers!

Our Fall Concert will be on Tuesday (10/15/24) at 7PM. Please read this entire message.

• Pizza will be provided for ALL choir singers from 4:15pm - 4:50PM in the CHS Choir Room. If you don't want to eat pizza, you can come to the auditorium by 5:00PM DRESSED IN YOUR CONCERT ATTIRE.
• Shuttles: If you are planning on catching the shuttle to come to CHS, please bring ALL YOUR CHOIR UNIFORM WITH YOU in a bag and be sure that it is labeled.
  • NTH@C: If you need to catch the shuttle to CHS, please leave your 4th period class at 4pm to catch the shuttle
  • CHS9: Please leave your 8th period class at 4:05PM and head to the back of CHS9 by the tennis court and meet Mrs. Conkovich
• ALL singers MUST be seated in the auditorium by 5:00PM. Please check in with the officers and turn in your electronic devices to them. You will get it back at the end of the concert.
• Professional Photoshoot will begin at 5:00PM - IF YOU ARE LATE, YOU WILL NOT BE IN THE PHOTO AND WILL GET POINTS TAKEN OFF FOR SUMMATIVE GRADE.
• There will be 2 summative grades given at the concert:

    • Treble Voice Singers: Black Choir Dress and solid black closed-toe shoes (no sandals, no tennis shoes, no flip flops, no opened toe shoes)
    • Tenor-Bass Voice Singers: Choir tux shirt/jacket and pants, solid black dress shoes and black dress socks. (no tennis shoes)
    • No phones allowed - Please be sure to turn off your phone and turn it in to the officers. You will get it back at the end of the concerts.
  • Concert Participation/Attendance (Summative Grade):
    • BE ON TIME!!!! Our officers are marking your EXACT arrival time and even being one minute late will result in grade reduction.

ALL BUS RIDERS WILL ARRIVE IN THE. CHS CHOIR ROOM AT 8AM. We will return as soon as the entire audition has finished.

Q&As

• Can I ride the bus and have my parents pick me up after my audition is finished? - YES!
• Will I know when my audition time is? - "No, once you arrive and register, they will give you a badge number. Directors won't even know your badge number nor when you will audition."
• Can I bring my Ipad/electronics to work on homework? - "No ELECTRONICS WILL BE ALLOWED, INCLUDING SMART WATCHES - ANY SINGERS WITH AN ELECTRONICS WILL GET DISQUALIFIED"
• Can my parents/guardians come to the audition with me? - "They can walk into the school with you and stay in the waiting area with all other singers but the audition itself is an individual audition."
• Do I have to ride the bus? - "No. It is not mandatory but if you don't have a mode of transportation, please ride the bus. With your parents/guardian's permission, you may drive yourself but YOU CANNOT carpool with another singer."
  
• What if I have a conflict? - "If you have another school related event, please let the directors know ASAP!. Work is not considered as a school related event."
  
• What if I don't show up to the audition? - "You will be marked as "Did Not Show" and will be charged a cancellation fee of $20
• What if I show up past the registration time? "You will NOT be able to register and audition. It is very important that you show up on time."
• Will there be sight reading? YES - SIGHT READING WILL HAPPEN RIGHT AFTER YOU SING THE CUT

UTA Music invites all interested in pursuing a career as a choral/elementary music educator to an exceptional day at the University of Texas at Arlington ~ Choral Music Education Day ~ an immersion experience on October 25, 2024. They will experience Choral Methods, Elementary Methods, Conducting, and the A Cappella Choir! We love sharing what it is like to be a Maverick that makes a difference.

SRF Monthly Quizzes

You will take a monthly SRF quiz at the end of every month. This will be a Performance Tasks

Grade. You only get 2 tries so be sure that your wifi connection is good and your audio sound is

on. You have the entire month to take the quiz. Every month’s quiz will be due on the LAST

FRIDAY of the month at 10PM. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

SRF Practice Log

Each singer is expected to practice sight reading on SRF for 10 minutes per week (2 minutes

each day of the week) and 40 minutes per month. This will be a completion grade. SRF will

keep track of all your practice log data. We will give one Performance Tasks monthly SRF

Practice Log each month. Please be sure to practice SRF weekly. Each week will start on SUNDAY and end on SATURDAY.
