As we return, we have just nine weeks left in the school year, and we are committed to making the most of this time. There are many exciting learning opportunities, activities, and important dates ahead, so please take a moment to read through this newsletter for upcoming information.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or me. We appreciate your support and look forward to a fantastic final stretch of the school year!

7 Habits of Happy Children at Home 🙂
Grab your popcorn and cozy up to watch a movie with your family! Use the prompts/questions below to reflect upon the 7 Habits as you watch the movie as a family. See below for tips to making this successful:
- Thoughtfully Select Movies- Choose age-appropriate movies with positive messaging. Consider selecting movies that teach relevant and needed lessons for the specific audience. You might even want to choose a specific theme. Are you hoping students will make healthier choices? Do you want them to learn perseverance in difficult times.
- Identify teachable moments- Regardless of how confident you feel in your own knowledge, tap into the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Remember, we adults don’t have to be experts, we just need to ask the right questions for children to explore.
- Discuss and invite voice- Make a habit of engaging in discussion before, during, and after the movie. When you’ve hit pause and you’re taking that bathroom or snack break, throw out some “wonderings” and explore each other’s thinking. Create a safe space for personal expression by responding to answers with an open mind and flexibility. Honor all answers, regardless of your viewpoint, while gently stretching everyone’s thinking. Grab a bowl of popcorn and gear up for exciting leadership discussions!

The Basics are 5 fun, simple, and powerful ways that every parent and caregiver can give every child a great start in life! These basics are simple and for everyone and are based on decades of research! Join us for Cub Tales!
