April Employees of the Month
- Kelly Sonwalt is an Elementary Teacher at Hawthorne Elementary. She has been with the district for 20 years.
- Cassandra Knight is a Paraprofessional at Eugene Field Elementary. She has been with the district for 2 months.

Reorganization of the Board
CERTIFICATION OF ELECTION RESULTS. The Board certified the election results from April 2, 2024. This included the proposition Paws for Progress and the results of the school board election adding the following members:
- Lennette Brown, 2-year term
- Michelle Stephens, 3-year term
- Chris Williams, 3-year term
BOARD REORGANIZATION. The Board of Education completed its Board reorganization per policy BCA-1. New board members were sworn in and the following officers were chosen:
- President: Jessica Ekern
- Vice President: Nicole Jahn
- Treasurer: Michelle Stephens
- Secretary: Bethany Collins
- MSBA Delegate: Matt Pilger
- MSBA Alternate: Lennette Brown
PLAQUE PRESENTATION. Outgoing Board Member and President Keith Louder was presented with a plaque to thank him for his service on the Board of Education.

Reports & Presentations
New Business
MSBA Full Policy Maintenance Service Agreement. The Board approved the Missouri School Board Association (MSBA) Full Policy Maintenance Service Agreement. There was no change in cost. This is the district's board policy service with MSBA.
Bid for Fencing and Gates (CSIP 1, CSIP 3, & CSIP 9). The board approved the Bid award to Septagon Columbia for the Hart Career Center Fencing and Gates. The Career Center was awarded the ARPA Missouri Area Career Center Opportunity grant which will pay for 75% of the Fencing and Gates.
Partners for Rural Impact and Mexico School District 59 AmeriCorps Volunteer Generation Fund Grant Agreement. This grant provides 10K to increase volunteerism in the District and $2.5k of that $10k will be for the school liaison.
PERSONNEL
- The board approved the monthly personnel report, including summer school personnel.
- The board was offered the informational only personnel report.
- Probationary Contracts, Professional Contracts, and Teaching Contracts were approved.
