Principal Note
Gratitude to our Families
I want to start my principal’s message by thanking all of our families who have been diligent and honest regarding the COVID-19 pre-certification process, as well as the grace and understanding being shown regarding school attendance, the need to quarantine, following all health guidelines, etc. As a school, we are highly reliant on our entire community to support our in-person learning efforts. I know that all of us are adapting to new morning routines, such as checking temperatures, completing the online screener, signing luggage tags, and your efforts do not go unnoticed. These fundamental efforts will continue to put our students and staff in a position to be healthy, safe, and successful!
Celebration of Fall and Friendship
Next Friday, October 30th all Munhall students will end their day with a celebration of Fall and Friendship. Students are encouraged to wear pajamas, bring in a stuffed animal, or wear orange and black. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, our celebration of fall/friendship parties will look different than past years. Social distancing and restrictions on school visitors will not deter our teachers, both remote and in-person, from putting together a fun experience for our students. If teachers or grade levels need any support from parents, such as sending in a craft idea, parents will hear directly from their teacher.
PTO Virtual Fall Fest
The amazing Munhall PTO has planned fun, family activities for our Munhall students. Each day will offer an optional activity, which is designed to connect our students and families together, especially our remote and in-person students who may enjoy opportunities to reconnect. A culminating Zoom event, a Halloween dress-up dance party, has been planned for Friday, October 30th at 7:00 p.m. Please see the attached flier for specific information about the PTO events.
November 3rd and November 9th
There will be no school for students on Tuesday, November 3rd and Monday, November 9th. This year, November 3rd is officially a state holiday in Illinois, being that it’s election day. On November 9th, students will not attend school in order for our staff to have a planning day.
