Dear Parents and Families,
This past week, we wrapped up our month-long celebration of our Black community members. Students in Art, Theatre Arts, and Choir showcased their talents, expressing appreciation for the contributions of Black individuals to our community. Additionally, many students wrote essays highlighting the remarkable impact of Black historical figures, with top entries receiving awards for their efforts.
Our 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students also participated in the reading and writing portions of the TELPAS assessment. If your student missed the test, they will be scheduled for a makeup session this week. We will continue with the listening and speaking assessments as well.
As mentioned in last week’s Gazette, we have introduced Beable, a new technology application designed to support students during advisory time. Beable connects students' interests to potential career opportunities while strengthening their reading skills. Along with i-Ready, this resource is accessible at home through their Classlink page on their iPad. Please refer to the flyer below for more details on Beable and how you can support your student’s learning at home. Weekly progress reports will be shared with advisory teachers on Friday mornings, and we encourage you to reach out to your student’s advisory teacher if you have any questions.

- TELPAS Listening & Speaking and Makeups (3/4- 3/6)- Emergent Bilingual students of Texas will be assessed their English language proficiency, measuring their progress in listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- UIL Competition for Band- in Bastrop
- March 4th & 5th for Band
- March 4th is Symphonic Band
- March 5th is Honor Band
- UIL Competition for Choir- March 4th in Bastrop
- PTSA General Meeting- (3/6)- Any staff member and parent can join this meeting.
Attendance Reminders
- Students arriving to class more than 15 minutes late will be marked absent. With classes lasting only 50 minutes, every instructional minute is crucial.
- Please encourage your student to arrive on time to maximize their learning opportunities.
- Ensure any doctor’s or parent notes are submitted promptly to update attendance records accurately.
Streamlined Communication via Talking Points
- We are continuing to use Talking Points for efficient communication. Families who have not yet accessed the platform will receive individual notifications to stay up-to-date on information sent by the school.

- REPOSTED: Drop-Off/Pick-Up Times – For safety, students should not arrive before 7:30 AM or remain on campus after 4:30 PM unless supervised.
- REPOSTED: Parents & Volunteers Needed – Join the PTSA or Watch D.O.G.S. Visit [www.JoinPTA.org](http://www.joinpta.org) and search for our group under Manor ISD. Membership dues are $8.50 per person, plus a small online processing fee.
