All students will have their photo taken for school purposes.
Picture Retakes will take place on Tuesday, October 29th.

Purple Week
Purple Week is coming up at the end of September and the time is now to get your purple apparel! We have short and long sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants and more! All proceeds go directly to cancer and Parkinson’s disease research at Van Andel Institute. Wearing your purple shows your support for the cause - we hope to make this the most successful Purple Week fundraiser yet!!!
OHS Unified Champion Schools Soccer Team
Come cheer on the OHS Unified Champion Schools Soccer Team at our first and only home game of the 2024 season! We'll be playing Holland Christian on Monday, September 23rd, at 3:30 pm at Bulldog Stadium. This is a free event, and the game will last about 45 minutes. We’d love to see the stands packed with support! A special thank you to Superintendent Jeff Haase for volunteering as our referee. Hope to see you there!
Book Fair
The Literati Book Fair is coming to Washington Street Elementary from September 23-27! Each class will have the opportunity to shop during the week, and the Book Fair will also be open during Fall Fest. Don't forget to stop by and pick up a new book for your little one or a favorite teacher!

Conflict Managers – Ready for Action!
We are happy to have the Conflict Manager program at Washington Street Elementary School. Conflict Managers are fourth and fifth-grade students who serve their school by helping other students resolve conflicts and by assisting students in many different ways during lunch and recess times. Each fall and winter new students are chosen to become Conflict Managers. Their classmates and their teachers choose them. The Conflict Managers are trained and scheduled for duty by the school counselor. Conflict Managers help students express their feelings, come up with ideas to solve problems, and find their own best solutions. The Conflict Manager team is a great asset to our school.
We would like to congratulate and thank the following students who will be Conflict Managers for the first half of the school year at Washington Street Elementary:
Charlie Dennis, Della Griffith, Zoey Kowalksi, Cameron Meyer, Luci Blekes-Nadohou, Liam Bumgart, Gabrielle Froelich, Adley Richie, Margo Gray, Keegan Knight, Zanna Miller, Ryder Wilson, Taylor Arnsman, Amelia Deckert, Theron Johnson, Hudson VanderKlok, Alexa Andrade, Hudson Haddix, Knox Leonard, Emersyn Wright, Jackie Kuehl, Thulay Paw, Hunter Pickett, and Brookelynn White. Way to go!! We are proud of your commitment and thank you for your community service.Capturing Kids Hearts
