A Note from the Principal
Spring is just around the corner and that means that Quarter 3 will be ending soon. Our students will then be in the home stretch to finish the school year strong. Many events are scheduled and we will be communicating dates and locations via future Find Out First notifications. We enjoyed our Read Across America week and thank our media specialist, Mrs. Clagett for organizing a fun week! As they say "March comes in like a lion" and we see that to be true as we have so many events and activities planned for the month.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hopson
Principal

*We will continue to publish our words in future newsletters.
Charles Tressler Award
I’m sure you know an FCPS teacher who not only has had a significant impact on young people, but has also been an outstanding representative of the teaching profession! It’s that time of the year to nominate that person for the Charles E. Tressler Distinguished Teacher Award.
This award is named for a former member of the Hood College faculty who encouraged young people to enter the profession of teaching. The college presents the award annually to honor distinguished teaching in the Frederick County public school system. The award was established by a gift from the late Samuel Eig of Gaithersburg.
A panel of FCPS judges will screen the nominations and select finalists before forwarding materials to Hood College. We welcome nominations from current and former students, teachers and support staff, parents, community members, administrators and supervisors. Hood College will recognize the winner this spring.
