This will be my 18th year in education, my 4th year as a school librarian. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education K-4, and a Master Degree in Library Science. I absolutely love my home here at Steubing Elementary and look forward to seeing our students in the library.

Library classes and individuals will experience a positive library learning experience. Classes are held weekly, therefore my goal is for your child to have different books to read EVERY week! Here are some things that your child will do when he/she comes to the Steubing library.

• Enjoy read alouds
• Self-select books for check out
• Learn technology apps
• Sit and enjoy our comfy furniture
• Play board games
• Collaborate
• Listen to book talks
• Makerspace
• Learn and participate in collaborative work with peers
• Learn how to conduct research

ECSE and Pre-K and Kindergarten : 1 book for 1 week

Grades 1st - 5th: 2 books for 2 weeks.

Students can return and check out books during open library time. They do not have to wait for Library day or the 1-2 week lend period.

Classes are on a Monday - Friday schedule (see attached below). It is best practices to keep library books in backpacks when they are not being read. This will ensure that your child has their book on their library day.

Parents/guardians may set up library accounts, with the ability to check out up to 5 library books. If interested, please stop by the Steubing library to set up your account.

Please help your child remember these Book Care Guidelines:

• Books should be kept away from younger siblings and pets.
• Books should be carried to and from school in their backpack to keep them safe and clean.
• Books should be handled gently.
• If a page is torn or a book is damaged, the book should be returned to the library so that it can be repaired.
• Books should be kept away from food and drinks.
• Be very careful of liquid containers in backpacks.
• Books should be enjoyed!

If your child loses or damages a book beyond repair, the book will need to be paid for so it can be replaced in our library.

Are you a parent, grandparent, or community member who would like to volunteer at the Steubing Library? We are looking for you! The library is currently looking for volunteers to assist in keeping the library running smoothly. You can volunteer for as little as 30 minutes - any day of the week!

Students & Staff must log into the library Destiny Catalog using their portal app. See Mrs. Ramirez, for any questions.

We have several options for students and teachers who prefer electronic books. Each of these can be accessed from the Steubing Library catalog.

Do you have a child ages 0-4 that is not yet enrolled in school? If so, I would love for you and your child to participate in our Monthly Toddler Time events.

During this time, we will enjoy read-aloud, sing songs, create a craft and enjoy a snack! Please sign up!
