Dear Windsor Families,
It is difficult to believe we are into the month of May. We hope this email finds you and your family well.
Tomorrow, Monday, May 4th you will receive an email from Arlington Heights School District 25 regarding 2020-2021 school registration. More information is included below.
During the month of May, we will be changing our school office hours to Tuesday mornings. More information is below, if you have an immediate need to visit the school. This week, we will also send dates/directions for all families to pick up and take home children's school materials, including any medications, etc.
Monday marks the start of Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week. (You will see more information on our Windsor PTA page below.) We hope everyone can join us in virtually showing our love and appreciation for them all. They are an amazing team. We are fortunate indeed!
Be safe. Be well. Thank you for your continued partnership.

Windsor PTA News
Dear Parents,
Staff Appreciation Week is right around the corner! We are excited to show our gratitude to Windsor teachers and staff from May 4 to 8. We have created two fun and simple ways your students can do this from home next week:
- On Monday, May 4, we would like each student to personally thank their teacher in a format that works for them. Students can send an email or post a Flipgrid video describing what their teacher means to them. We encourage students to include both homeroom and specials teachers in their recognition!
- On Wednesday, May 6, the teachers will be sent a slideshow of photos of Windsor students. Please take a picture(s) of your student(s) holding a simple message for teachers. This does not need to be teacher specific. Please feel free to use the Windsor Strong template (attached), or write a simple message of thanks in a format of your choosing. If you have more than one child at Windsor, you can either take individual pictures and email them all or put the kids together in one photo—whatever is best for your family. Please email photos to WindsorTAWeek@gmail.com by Monday May 4, at 10 p.m. The pictures will be then complied into a slideshow to share with the entire Windsor staff on Wednesday.
Thank you for encouraging your student to show their appreciation next week!
Tuesday Office Hours and Technology Requests
You can email Mr. Chris Fahnoe at cfahnoe@sd25.org and Ms. Boston pboston@sd25.org for technology assistance or to request a device for home usage.
Remote Learning Pages
We share the week's remote learning plans for all grade levels Sunday evenings. You will also always find this link on our main website under Families and Windsor Remote Learning.
Teachers will also continue to send a link to each day's plan in the morning to best meet the differing preferences and needs of parents/guardians supporting remote learning.

WTTW Announces New Educational Series
WTTW Announces New Educational Series: Stay Home. Hit Play.
In an effort to provide you with positive, non-legal coronavirus disease (COVID-19) news, we are delighted to share with you a new series launching on WTTW titled Stay Home. Hit Play.
WTTW is partnering with Mayor Lori Lightfoot (link) to provide programming that will open the doors to the city’s museums and cultural institutions to students and families staying at home across the city, offering “virtual field trips” behind the scenes. In the first episode, Mayor Lightfoot heads to the Shedd Aquarium to visit the penguins, feed the sharks, and say hello to “Nickel,” the rescued sea turtle.
WTTW will air the series twice weekly on Fridays and Mondays, with the first episode on Friday, May 1 at 5:30 pm on WTTW (11.1) and on Monday, May 4 at 12:30 pm on WTTW Prime (11.2). WTTW will also stream all episodes on wttw.com/watch.
Franczek P.C. has the privilege of representing the City of Chicago and WTTW. It is our hope that this series provides a little joy in this otherwise uncertain and difficult time.

As the Illinois stay at home and school closing order came through on Friday, we just want to highlight the above page once more for families. It contains a number of different local and state resources.
Additionally, the Illinois Department of Human Services launched a free emotional support text line for Illinoisans experiencing stress related to COVID-19: Call4Calm. This isn’t a crisis hotline, but a source of support. If you want to speak to a counselor, text TALK to 552020, or HABLAR for Spanish speakers.
You can also access a wider array of supports using the same number on your mobile phone. Text 552020 with keywords such as “unemployment” or “food” or “shelter” to receive information to help you navigate getting assistance.
