MAP Testing District Decision Letter
I’m writing to provide an update on our plan for the final session of NWEA MAP testing for this school year. The NWEA MAP is a nationally normed, standardized achievement test which measures what students know and informs what they're ready to learn next by using a computer adaptive test that adjusts to the ability and knowledge of the student. In CH-UH, we typically administer this test three times a year to students in grades 3-10.
This year, teachers will be required to administer Spring MAP testing for grades K-2 in math, as well as grade 3 ELA for students in need of a promotion score. Testing in all other areas at all other grade levels will be optional. However, all tests will be available during the Spring window in the event that an educator wants to assess students for present levels, see growth over time, and/or update student data.
This plan will be followed at all CH-UH schools. This decision was made collaboratively by school and District leadership, and consensus was reached across all three grade bands. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Shelley Pulling
Lunch on the Lawn May 30
All families are invited to attend our annual Lunch on the Lawn on the Thursday, May 30, which is our last day of school. The classes will be eating lunch for the first 30 minutes with their families and their teacher and then they will have the next 30 minutes to dance and listen to the DJ. The times for this are the following: Kindergarten and First Grade 11:00-12:00, Second Grade 12:15-1:15, Fifth Grade 12:00-1:00, Third Grade 12:15-1:15 and Fourth Grade 12:30-1:30.
Families can bring a blanket and/or a lawn chair to sit on. We are trying to limit the seating for lunch to the grassy area in the back side of the property so we are not close to the street. Please look for the sign with the classroom teacher's name on it and find a spot in that area. We will be sending a link to let us know which families are attending that day and if their child(ren) will go home with them after lunch.
This is a really fun event that our staff, students and families look forward to every year. Not just because it is the last day of school, but it is a great community building event!
The District has adopted a plan for communications with persons with disabilities, which is available at the following link: Communication Plan. The plan establishes procedures to ensure that the District's communications with persons with disabilities, including applicants, participants, members of the public, and companions with disabilities, are as effective as its communications with others.
