Dear PLES!
It was a wonderful first week! Students did a great job meeting new classmates, learning routines and procedures and being bucket fillers!
Please be sure your student’s FULL NAME is on their backpack, lunchbox, and water bottle.

Read below for more information including PTA updates and the Community Bulletin Board which showcases events and programs in the area.
Enjoy the long weekend!
Mrs. Harrison, Principal
Mr. Blake, Assistant Principal
Arrival: If you are dropping your student off in carline in the morning, the drop off time is 8:20-8:35.
Dismissal: Continue to review your student’s plan for dismissal with them.
If they will be picked up in carline, students must have a note every day.
If your student will be riding the bus, have your student practice saying and identifying their bus number.
Transportation: Be at the stop 10-15 minutes prior to your assigned time. A caregiver must be present at the stop in the afternoon to receive kindergarten students off the bus. If a caregiver is not present, the student will be brought back to school for the family to pick up. First graders may be brought back to school if a caregiver is not present and the student is uncomfortable getting off the bus alone.
Spotlight on Learning
PLES receives Federal Title I funds to assist students in meeting state achievement standards. Throughout the school year, we will be providing you with important information about this law and your child's education. The letter below lets you know about your right to request information about the qualifications of the classroom staff working with your child.
PBIS and Bucket Filling
PLES is a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school! PBIS teaches students the expected behaviors and encourages positive behaviors with Bucket Bucks rewards.
Part of our program is the message of being bucket fillers based on the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today? We encourage students and staff to be kind, to be a helper, and to fill each other’s buckets. PLES Bucket Fillers take care of ourselves, others and our school!
