Senior For The Wolves Celebrate Spring
Student Council Earns Blue Ribbon Sweepstakes
Congratulations to the Wolfe City High School Student Council! Student Council is a leadership organization whose goal is to provide services and activities that improve the school and community. WCHS has achieved the distinction of Outstanding Student Council in Texas. They have also earned the Sweepstakes Blue Ribbon which is the highest honor a student council can achieve.
To earn a Blue Ribbon Sweepstakes award in the Texas Association of Student Councils, schools must achieve outstanding status in five categories: (1) Pride and Patriotism; (2) Drugs, Alcohol, Safety and Health; (3) Community Service; (4) Energy and Environment; and (5) Outstanding Student Council.

- Wolfe City Proud Pack Band is working on expanding the band for the 2025-2026 school year to allow 7th graders to tryout for high school marching band
- Wolfe City High School Ag students are preparing for the Hunt County Fair
- Wolfe City Boys Golf Team advanced to Regionals
- Wolfe City Middle School competed at the Caddo Mills Special Olympics and did well placing in seven events

Athletic Director "Go the Extra Mile" Award for March
Congratulations to the March Go The Extra Mile Award Winner: Athletic Director Brad Smithey
Wolfe City ISD is thrilled to congratulate Brad Smithey on being named the recipient of the March Go The Extra Mile Award! This honor celebrates the dedication, hard work, and passion that he has shown in his role as Athletic Director, going above and beyond to ensure that the students and athletes of Wolfe City ISD thrive both on and off the field.
Since joining the district, Smithey has been instrumental in the growth and success of our athletic programs. Under his leadership, Wolfe City ISD’s sports teams have seen unprecedented achievements across the board, creating a culture of excellence and setting a high standard for the future.
Here are just a few of the outstanding accomplishments that have marked Brad Smithey's time with us:

Boys Regional / Area / District Track Champions: The track teams have achieved incredible success, with both the boys' and girls' teams setting new records and pushing the bar higher each season. This includes breaking 15 school records across both teams and maintaining a strong presence in the state track scene.

Cross Country Excellence: Our cross-country team’s dedication paid off with a 3rd place finish at State and multiple appearances at the state level, proving that our runners are among the best in Texas.

Volleyball Undefeated District Champs: The volleyball team’s domination of the district under Smithey's leadership remains a proud achievement. Their undefeated district championship season showcased their talent, teamwork, and commitment. Coach Hali Williams was named Coach of the Year for 2024.

Football Success: The football team has experienced outstanding growth with an Area appearance and multiple athletes earning honors, including All-State players.

State Powerlifting Medalists & Growth: The powerlifting program has flourished, with athletes reaching the state level and bringing home medals.

Golf Program Growth: Under his direction, the golf program has experienced significant growth, with the boys' team achieving regional success. More athletes are getting involved in the program and excelling under his guidance.

Facility Upgrades: Brad Smithey has been a driving force behind several key facility upgrades that directly benefit our student-athletes, including the track, meeting room, and junior high weight room. These improvements provide our athletes with the resources they need to train, perform, and succeed.

Athletes Reaching New Heights: Smithey has played a pivotal role in supporting student-athletes who have signed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level, including standouts such as Caden Thurman, Cayden Herron, HD Davis, and Adin McDonald. Additionally, Carson Herron participated in the prestigious Oil Bowl, a true honor for any athlete.

Team Success Across Multiple Sports: The list of accomplishments extends far beyond individual sports. The boys’ basketball team made a Regional Semi appearance in 2023, and our teams have been recognized as part of the Super Elite Team in football, boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, cross country, and track, highlighting the exceptional quality of our athletes across the board.

Coaching Excellence: Zach Tisdale was recognized as Regional Track Coach of the Year, a well-deserved accolade for his dedication and expertise in guiding our student-athletes to new heights.
As if these accomplishments weren’t impressive enough, Smithey has consistently worked behind the scenes to ensure that every athlete, regardless of their sport or skill level, has the opportunity to reach their full potential. His commitment to developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically is a testament to his leadership and vision for the district.
The Go The Extra Mile Award is a reflection of the extraordinary efforts that Smithey has put into making our athletic programs the best they can be. We are grateful for his leadership, his drive, and his unwavering commitment to our students.
Powerlifters Advance To State
Lexie Stanbery wins the Bronze medal at state!
Ella Hale placed in the top 10 in the state from 1A-6A schools in the unequipped division.

Texas Strategic Leadership (TSL) Update
Wolfe City ISD administrators met with Region 10 this month to finalize key goals for the district’s comprehensive five-year Strategic Plan. The full steering committee is scheduled to meet in April to complete the plan, which will be presented to the school board in May.
Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) Update
Wolfe City ISD has officially submitted its Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) plan to the state. To support the process, Doug Deboar from Region 9 met with the TIA committee to address questions and provide guidance. He also presented at the March 24, 2025, school board meeting, offering board members and community stakeholders the opportunity to learn more and ask questions about the plan. As part of a Region 9 cohort, WCISD continues to collaborate closely on the TIA process. The district anticipates receiving the state's decision by July.
Texas Strategic Staffing (TSS) Update
Wolfe City ISD is excited to welcome five intern teachers from East Texas A&M University for the 2025-2026 school year. Following a competitive interview process, WCISD was the interns' top choice. Through the district’s paired teaching model, these aspiring educators will gain hands-on experience while contributing to student success. This initiative not only strengthens recruitment efforts but also fosters long-term teacher retention, ensuring a high-quality learning environment for years to come.
Wolfe City ISD Participates in the Houston Livestock Show
Students excelled at the Houston Livestock Show, with Landon Galyon placing 1st in his class and Molly Cox winning 1st in Ag Mechanics, earning top prizes.
