How Does the Dyslexia Program Work
Curriculum
Willis ISD utilizes the Reading by Design (RBD) program, which employs a systematic and multisensory approach. This program is aligned with research-based practices that effectively promote literacy development
At the beginning of the school year, every child will undergo testing to assess their reading skill level. This assessment ensures that each lesson is tailored to meet the individual reading needs of each student.
Once all testing is completed, your child will be assigned to a specific reading group based on their skill level.
Students will participate in small group sessions with students from Monday to Thursday, focusing on skill practice for 30 minutes each day.
Regular progress reports will be sent home to provide updates on your child's learning and development in reading.
