News from Winfield Elementary: February 16, 2024
From the Principals, Mrs. Alonzo & Mrs. Hall
Dear Winfield Families,
Thank you for your support of another great week of teaching and learning. From learning about the Seasons and Weather (kindergarten), to the History of the Earth (grade 1), Westward Expansion (grade 2), Astronomy (grade 3), Contemporary Fiction (grade 4), and The Renaissance (grade 5)--we were busy, busy, busy! Thankfully Mrs. Hall and I had a little help today! Fifth grader Jacob Rosario served as the "Principal for the Day", and fourth grade Paul Lukacs was the "Assistant Principal for the Day". The boys helped us visit and greet students in the morning, supervise lunch, remind students of rules and expectations, and support individual students in classrooms. We hope they enjoyed their experience as much as we appreciated having two extra sets of hands!
Please remember there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 19th. We will resume classes on Tuesday at 9:05 am. Thank you for your efforts in getting students to school ON TIME. ALL DAY. EVERY DAY. Have a great long weekend!

From the Clinic, Nurse Becky
Please send an extra change of clothing for your child to keep in their locker. Accidents happen on the playground, at lunch or in the classroom that sometimes requires a change of clothing. I have a very limited amount of clothing to lend out in all sizes, so it is super helpful if your child has something of their own here at school. Thanks!
Bulldog Buddies Preschool
Birth To School
CPCSC offers a Birth to School Program for children 0-5 years old that reside within the Crown Point Community School Corporation boundaries. We offer a Little Learners series that includes a baby class (0-12 months), toddler class (13-24 months) and little learners class (25-36 months). Imaginarium and Learn Through Play classes are for children ages 0-5. We also offer a class for parents and caregivers called the Caregiver Cafe which provides information about developmental milestones and resources. If your child is already attending Bulldog Buddies, you can also be a part of the Birth to School program. All Birth to School classes and events are free. For additional information, please check out our website at www.cps.k12.in.us/bts. If you have specific questions, please contact our Birth to School Coordinator Jamie Kalk at jkalk@cps.k12.in.us.
