The eLeader
The official digital newsletter of La Porte ISD
Greetings, La Porte ISD Family. Today is a great day to be a Bulldog!
I am so proud of our wonderful La Porte educators for their dedication and commitment to excellence this summer. Teachers, instructional coaches, and campus leaders honed their skills at various professional development events this past week. At Legacy Builders, administrators received legal updates, discussed academic initiatives, and planned campus improvements. Meanwhile, more than 200 teachers and instructional coaches attended the Summer Splash event, where they chose from 21 core content sessions. Professional development is crucial as it enhances skills, provides updates of the latest teaching methods, and ultimately improves student outcomes.
Please join me in thanking the many La Porte ISD staff members who are dedicating their summer to providing fun, enriching opportunities for our students at our summer camps. Their commitment makes a significant impact on our students. This past week, more than 600 students participated in summer camps, and there are plenty more activities in the weeks ahead. I encourage you to explore the options available and help our young learners make the most of their summer break.
Finally, registration for new and returning students is well underway, and we invite families to join us on our journey of learning and growth for the 2024-25 school year. They do not have to live in our district to attend school here. Registration information for new and returning students is available here.
I hope everyone is enjoying a restful and rejuvenating summer!
With La Porte pride,
Walter Jackson, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
