Extended Break 2020
Grab & Go Meals
Pickerington Schools’ Food Service Department is partnering with the Transportation Department, USDA and ODE to provide a “grab and go” meal program, Monday through Friday, during the weeks of March 16 - March 20, and March 30 - April 3.
Each "grab and go" meal provides breakfast and lunch.
FREE meals are provided for anyone through the age of 18.
Pick up times are between the hours of 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. weekdays at Tussing Elementary, Harmon Middle School and Ridgeview Junior High School.
Meals will NOT be available the week of Spring Break, March 23 - March 27.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19, we cannot have people staying on the premises. This will be a “grab and go” pickup. If you are sick, please send another member of your household.
Please see the following free meals article for more information.
Important Resources
- Don't be afraid to discuss the coronavirus with your children, but do be age-appropriate.
- Check your own anxiety; if you are feeling anxious, try to calm down before answering questions and/or have other family members help contribute to the conversation.
- While at home with your family, be mindful of how much news they are seeing; watching constant updates can be anxiety-producing.
- Be reassuring and focus on what you are doing to stay safe.
Blizzard Bag - Explanation & Expectations
Blizzard Bag information is posted on the Pickerington Schools' website. Please use the following link for further instructions:
http://www.pickerington.k12.oh.us/snow-calamity-days/.
These Blizzard Bags are in a choice board format. In each choice board, you will find daily expectations, "must-dos" for the week and "can-dos" for the week.
The minimum expectation for each elementary student is to complete the daily expectations and the "must-dos" for the week.
We would recommend that students also complete some or all of the "can-do" activities. We understand that some of the "can-dos" require the use of technology and that some families may not have a device or WIFI available to them, so we will understand if students cannot complete online assignments at the elementary level.
Again, students are expected to complete and return Week 1 and Week 2 Blizzard Bag Assignments to school once classes resume. The "must-do" items will be reviewed by the teachers and used for attendance purposes.

From the General Manager of Staples - Just wanted to offer support for any students who do not have access to a printer at home, they can stop in their local Staples in Reynoldsburg to print any hard copy assignments they may need during the school/library closures. My team is working on setting up a station to access google classrooms to allow students to print off their work in the coming weeks. We hope to take some burden off our teachers and administrators during this time in any way we can. As a parent who has students in the district, I know this is a trying time for all of us. We are here to help. There will be no charge for this service.
