This week Kindergarteners have been learning about living and non-living things. Students were challenged to build an exhibit for a museum to teach other students about living and non-living things. They got together in teams to begin the sorting process and explain their thinking.

During the last Vex Competition on February 1, 2025, our Ball Ground Robotics team was awarded the Vex Think Award. The VEX Think Award recognizes the most effective and consistent use of coding techniques and programming design solutions to solve the game challenge. Our Ball Ground team placed two sensors on the front of the robot to address two issues. First, the team wanted to improve our scoring accuracy and second to provide a simple “touch start” during the autonomous skills challenge. The sensors made it possible for the drivers to know when they were in the “score zone” and touch start button ensured accuracy during the autonomous skills challenge.

We are proud to announce that our Ball Ground Robotics team finished our first competitive robotics season on February 1, 2025 with a ranking of 17th out of 128 elementary teams in Georgia!

It’s time for the Kids Heart Challenge event! You can register for our school team by downloading the AHA Schools app or go to www.heart.org/Schools. Our students are learning all about what they can do to keep their hearts healthy and how they can help others by collecting donations for the American Heart Association.

• The Kids Heart Challenge (Jump Rope) event will be held during regular P. E. class throughout the week of February 10th.
• We will be accepting donations through Friday, February 28th.
• **Please remind your child to wear tennis shoes for this event.**

In-person Candy Gram sales will take place 2/12 & 2/13 before school in the Atrium. Students can order Candy Grams using cash or check only. Please be sure the students know who the Candy Gram is going to and who their homeroom teacher is (it would be greatly appreciated if you send a list with your child).
