Wear Blue on Thursday
Message from Mr. Burns
Hi Wims Families,
On Thursday, November 14th, Wilson Wims will observe World Diabetes Day as an opportunity to raise awareness of type 1 diabetes (T1D), recognize people living with T1D, and highlight the need for breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D. We encourage students to wear blue to support those affected by this condition.
To learn more about Type 1 Diabetes, the symptoms and steps you can take for early detection go to https://www.breakthrought1d.org/t1d-basics/

Greetings, Wildcats!
We hope you all enjoyed this beautiful fall weekend. The leaves are really coming down now and I feel like we are heading towards the holidays at warp-speed.
There are just 9 days left to get your Dave & Buster’s Power Cards and support our fundraiser! We have raised almost $300 to support after-school programs for Wims’ students in need and we’d love to add a bit more to that fund. You have until the 19th to save on power cards - accepted at any D&B location nationwide.
Don’t forget to RSVP for Grandparents Day if your Wildcat plans to participate! The sign up for this beloved event, scheduled for Monday, Nov. 25 from 8-9:30a, is ⅓ full as of this morning. Once we reach the capacity possible for the cafeteria, registration will be closed, and we will not be able to accept additional requests - thank you in advance for your understanding. More information on Grandparents Day is shared below.
Finally, the sign up to donate a pie to our Wims’ staff is still open (we still need 42 more pies!) and the volunteer sign up for the Book Fair is open. We need a LOT of volunteers - both day & evening shifts available - for the Book Fair. If you have never volunteered at Book Fair, don’t let that stop you from signing up. For many, it is their favorite event and certainly one of mine.
Have a Wonderful Wildcat Week!

IT’S PIE TIME: DROP-OFF MONDAY, NOV. 25
BOOK FAIR: DEC. 2-5
We’re excited to announce this year’s Winter Wonderland Book Fair – a magical event where students can discover new books and dive into winter-themed activities! The Book Fair will be open to families from 4-6pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (Dec. 2, 3, and 5) as well as from 4-7pm on Wed., Dec. 4 for Family Night, with a special event starting at 6pm (more information coming soon). Please join us in creating a festive, memorable experience for our school community.
To make this event a success, we need your help! We’re looking for volunteers to assist with both set-up and hours throughout the fair. Whether you have an hour or a day to give, your support makes a huge difference! Volunteer duties will include helping students browse and select books, running the checkout, and setting up/packing up the fair. Please consider signing up here à https://bit.ly/24WWESBookFair
