Dear Phoenix Families:

The school calendar turns to March and we all hope for the weather to continue being beautiful in Grand Forks, North Dakota. We certainly have enjoyed the opportunity for our teachers to bring their students outside for recess during this uneventful winter.

Please watch the GFPS website for details relative to the Public Forum on Monday, March 25th from 7:00-9:00 pm at South Middle School. On behalf of our families, I have formally invited ten Phoenix families to attend this event. The purpose of the Public Forum is to gather stakeholder input regarding all of the operations and functionality of the school district. If you would like further details please reach out to Teresa Orr in our office and she will schedule a time for me to call you or she can schedule an in-person meeting for us.

We will be administering the North Dakota State Assessment to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. As the calendar turns to April we will begin Star Testing. Please provide additional support for your children as they engage in the testing process.

Our staff will continue to provide everything each child needs to be successful as we look ahead to the conclusion of another school year. Thank you for partnering with us. Please call our office if you have any questions.

Welcome! We are excited for your student to enroll in Grand Forks Public Schools.

If your student is five years old before August 1st, 2024, you will pre-register your student now.

We are excited to see you on April 4, 2024 as we prepare for your student’s kindergarten year. To help better prepare for your arrival at Kindergarten Registration, we would like you to take a few minutes to complete our online Pre-Registration form

(form.jotform.com/gfschools/KRegistration2024). This will allow us to capture information to begin your student’s enrollment and cut down on your waiting time at school that day.

Additionally, please bring parent/guardian photo identification and a State-Certified Birth Certificate/I9, which is used to verify identification and date of birth.

The choir has started back up for the spring. Mr. Rerick is excited to work with the students to prepare them for the May concert.

If your child is in 4th or 5th grade and would like to join the choir, please have them see Mr. Rerick in the music room before or after school.
