Principal's Message
Greetings SHMS community!
We are happy to be back into the swing of things at school and to have Black History Month activities kick-off at school tomorrow. Though short, this is always an exciting and busy month at school. We will have our Black History Month Spirit Week at the end of the month in the run-up to our annual BHM showcase event where students will recognize and celebrate Black culture by educating and entertaining us.
This week we will induct the newest members of our chapter of the National Junior Honor Society and hope that all students are starting the second half of the year on track for academic excellence moving forward. Final marks for the second quarter will soon be posted in Aspen and families should look out for a mailing with their student's term two report card sometime in the next two weeks.
I hope everyone is as excited as I am to finally have five days of classes this week, let's work hard and make the most of them all!
Eric Fraser
Principal

Free Color Printing at D.C. Public Library Branches
Students working on displays for school projects (such as NHD) may not have access to a color printer at home. With their D.C. One or a public library card, they can print up to 20 pages per day in color or black and white at no cost at any branch of the D.C. Public Library.
Print jobs must be sent via email with only the word "PRINT" in the subject line. The email address for the library closest to Stuart-Hobson is northeastlibrary@dc.gov. Here are the email addresses for all public library branches if students want to print at another location. The link also has additional info about remote printing services, including instructions on how to pick up a print job at the library.
IMPORTANT: the library prints all pages double-sided. If a student wants to print images for display, then they need to leave a blank page between each image.

The Cluster is a strong community of families, and the PTA strengthens that community by working together to support our students and campuses. Joining the PTA is a great opportunity to learn more about our school, enrich the student experience, and meet new people.
