Chapel Chat with Nazareth's Community Partners
October 2nd, 2:30- 3:30 ~ Linehan Chapel
Join student participants from the Center for Spirituality Spring Break Solidarity and Social Justice Retreat to El Paso, TX and Juarez, Mexico along with Nazareth faculty and community partners to discuss the immigration crisis and learn how you can advocate for those who do not have a voice. The panel will feature Fr. Robert Mosher, director of the Columban Mission Center, El Paso, TX.
Chapel Chats, sponsored by the Center for Spirituality, are opportunities for open discussions designed to raise awareness about issues of the intersection of Spirituality and Social Justice. These “chats” bring together members of the Nazareth Community with community partners to examine the larger impact various issues have on the experience and social outcomes of the community members who face them. They also provide an opportunity to reflect on how one’s spiritual or religious identity play a part in the ways in how we interact with diverse communities, people and particular issues.
Please Note: This Chapel Chat will complement a previously advertised panel at 12:10 in Linehan Chapel that will feature Nazareth's community partners in El Paso, Puerto Rico and Guatemala. This panel will discuss how to work hand-in-hand to inspire empathy, catalyze social action, and link diverse communities
