Aquebogue Speaks
June 2020 Edition
Our Digital Newsletter
Sharing student memories, values, and perspectives on being part of the Aquebogue TEAM; where Together Everyone Achieves More.
This edition will, understandably, be unlike the others, as our Aquebogue community adjusted in real time to a building closure that had far reaching ripple effects. Unsurprisingly, our students, families, and dedicated staff stepped up and handled these challenges while demonstrating the traits we seek to impart in our students every day: Responsibility, Optimism, Caring, and Teamwork chief among them.
Enjoy this collection of student reflections, activities, challenges they undertook, and the thread among them all- maintaining the vital connections that we all seek between each student, their families, the staff, and our beautiful Riverhead community.

Find the Hope
By Von’Trice Major
What does it mean to find hope?
To find it means to find the good in the bad. When the coronavirus was not here, some of the people could not spend time with their family because their moms and dads had to go to work, while the kids went to school to get an education. So no one could spend time with each other, but when coronavirus started we could not go to school, and the parents could not go to work unless they were doctors or nurses. When that happened, everyone was at home and they were able to spend time together. As you can see, the good is that everyone can spend time with their families despite all of the people in the world who are fighting for their lives in hospitals, unable to have their family by their side.
