💰 Don't Leave Money on the Table
Employer volunteer hours match
Many do including Microsoft, Boing, Sales Force, and Verizon, does yours? If you don't know ask your HR to find out!
If your company does match for volunteer hours don't leave that money on the table! Log your hours and be sure to choose either Madrona school in Edmonds, or Madrona Integrated Teams, depending on the program.
🌱 Garden Club Weeding Party - June 21
Weeding Party
Join us and help beautify the Madrona Campus
We've made a dent, but there is so much more to do!
🎓 8th Grade Graduation Help Needed - June 24th & 25th
We need parents to help June 24th 12-2pm, we will be putting together flowers for each of the 8th grade students (and middle school staff) to wear. If you have experience with flowers, that is great, but mostly we'd just love willing volunteers!
No experience necessary.
10 needed, 5 spots filled = 5 Volunteers Still Needed
Thanks to everyone who has volunteered for setup/serving and tear down for this event!
Please sign up for a volunteer spot if you are available!
Working together is how we make Madrona great for our kids!
🍉 Summer Resources
Free Code Camp
You are invited to join a free collective online coding camp. Learn how to create web applications and other programming skills. Great for beginners and students interested in up-skilling over the summer.
Your very own Michael Scott McGinn, web developer for MadronaBearFacts.Com will be attending this during the summer and invites you to explore coding along with him and his daughter Summer.
A great family activity that can build great STEAM skills over the summer and all year long.
Earn certificates to add to your portfolio and have some credentials to boost your confidence and potentially help toward a career.
For more information visit https://www.freecodecamp.org which is a 501(c)(3) public charity.
Do you qualify for free or reduced lunch? If so your family will get $120 for each eligible child to buy groceries during the summer.
Children who get SUN Bucks can still participate in other summer mean programs.
If you are a low-income family who is not currently on free or reduced lunch, please apply for the program so your children will be automatically eligible for this benefit. Applications accepted through June 14th. If you miss that deadline, you will have an opportunity to apply for Sun Bucks directly. Check back later in June on the Sun Bucks website.
Free Summer Camp
The Foundation for Edmonds School District is offering a free summer camp Monday through Thursday for all children ages 5-18. Please see the flyer for more information.
