SPRING FINAL EXAMS
Spring Final Exams begin this week! Here is the Klein High School Spring Final Exam Schedule and the KISD Exemption Checklist. If you have questions or concerns regarding Final Exam Exemptions, please reach out to your student's alpha Assistant Principal.
CHROMEBOOK COLLECTION
As in years past, all students will be turning in their technology at the end of the school year. When your students turn in their equipment, they should have a Chromebook, charger, and case (the case should be on the Chromebook and consist of a top and a bottom). The items will be collected digitally, and an email will be sent to the parent/guardian of record in Skyward, and to the student, detailing which items were turned in, which were missing, and the charge for any items missing/damaged.
FEES
The charge for any missing/damaged peripheral items (charger or case) will be added to your student’s School Cash account by the end of the day your student turns in their device. Students will have until 3:00 p.m. on June 6th to return items that were not turned in during device pickup. The fee for a missing charger is $34. The only acceptable chargers are the HP chargers issued with the Chromebook. Third party chargers cannot be turned in or accepted, as the warranty on the Chromebook is voided unless the HP chargers are used. The fee for any part of a missing case is $16. If the Chromebook and charger are not turned in, a fee of $400 will be added to the School Cash account. Items will be inspected for damage at the time of pick up. If damages are deemed an accident and the student has not had 3 accidental damage claims, fees for repairs will not be charged. However, if the damages are deemed to be intentional, charges for repairs of the damaged items will be added to the student’s School Cash account. After June 6th, accessory items cannot be returned for credit. Since these devices will all be used again next school year, we must immediately order replacements for items not returned by 3:00 p.m. on June 6th. Chromebooks can be returned all summer.
In accordance with the Klein ISD Student 1:1 Device Handbook, Contesting Charges, Damaged items are available for a parent to review prior to June 9th, 2025 (which is 7 days after the last device pickup day). After that review period has ended, the damaged items will be repaired, destroyed, or disposed of as Klein ISD deems appropriate, and there will not be an avenue for the parent to contest the damage(s). All damaged student devices and other peripheral items will remain the property of Klein ISD.
We would like to remind students and families that any drawings or stickers on their student’s device are prohibited according to the 2024-2025 Student Device handbook. Any student turning in a device with stickers or drawings on their case or device will be charged $16 for a new case. Students should remove any stickers and drawings in their entirety a couple of days before turning in their device to avoid paying for a new case. Students will not have an opportunity to clean their devices once device pickup starts.
The 2024/2025 Klein ISD Student 1:1 Device Handbook, Updated July 2024 states that: Students should use devices and peripheral items and maintain their physical condition and cosmetic appearance in the same condition in which they were provided.
- Do not write, draw, stick, or adhere anything to the device or peripheral items.
- Do not decorate the device or peripheral items using markers, personalized stickers, etc.
If you have any questions about Chromebook collection, please reach out to Mrs. Holt at eholt1@kleinisd.net.
Thank you!
